CET: Jordan

CET Academic Programs operates semester and 8-week summer program options in Amman, Jordan. Focus on intensive language learning or intern while you study! CET offers a "community approach to city living", connecting study abroad students with local university students as roommates and language partners.

See below for program options approved by UNC Study Abroad.

As Jordan’s cultural capital, Amman is the place to be—it’s lively, diverse, and there’s no shortage of opportunities to take your Arabic language skills for a spin.

The CET Center is located on the campus of the University of Jordan. Students receive a UJ student ID, which grants access to facilities and reduced rates at local historical sites.

You’ll share an off-campus apartment with local roommates and other CET students. Everything you need—supermarkets, cafés, restaurants—is within walking distance. Your housing is not just a place to live, it’s an extension of your Arabic language classroom and a daily opportunity for cultural exchange. You’ll use your language skills to help you navigate your new life, and immerse yourself in Jordanian culture and customs.

Program Costs

Review the Budget Sheet posted above for detailed information on costs and fees. Costs vary per term and are subject to change.

Tuition and fees for the program are set based on the host institution’s rates, and will be charged to the participant’s UNC student account. Always refer to the Budget Sheet on this page, and not the host institution’s posted rates, as it is customized for UNC students. Review the Budget Sheet for additional Cashier Billed Expenses and Out-of-Pocket Costs. The Study Abroad Office strongly encourages students to budget carefully for their time abroad.

Check the CET program website for more information on their scholarship opportunities.
